The Dispensaire Français – French Benevolent Society is the oldest French charity in London. Founded in 1842 (Société de Bienfaisance) and 1867 (Dispensaire), our institution has been offering, for more than 150 years, medical care and social support to French speakers living in the United Kingdom.

The Dispensaire Français and the French Benevolent Society were founded in the 19th century, continuing a rich tradition of French solidarity in London. For more than 180 years, exiled French nationals and refugees have found in the Dispensaire Français a place of welcome and support in the United Kingdom.
Our Mission
The Dispensaire Français supports vulnerable French and French-speaking people in the United Kingdom, providing them with medical & social support. Our mission rests on four core values : solidarity, accessibility, volunteer commitment and dignity.

Our Team
The Dispensaire Français relies on a permanent staff team, a body of volunteer medical professionals, social volunteers and a dedicated Board of Trustees. In all, more than 65 people are committed to helping those in difficulty.
