The Dispensaire is aimed in particular at people who:

  • Are not yet registered with the NHS
  • Do not have private insurance (including French-speaking students or interns)
  • Are in financial difficulty (job loss, emergency situation)
  • Are seeking a second medical opinion in French

How can you access care at the Dispensaire Français?

To receive care for £10 at the Dispensaire Français, you must declare on your honour that you do not have private insurance, or prove that you are in difficulty (job loss, domestic abuse, etc.)

Do you need to be a French national to be seen?

No, we welcome all French speakers: French, Belgian, Swiss, Québécois, French-speaking Africans, and so on.

Can you be seen without being registered with the NHS?

Yes, our services are open to all French speakers living in London and the United Kingdom, with or without NHS cover.

How much do consultations and the annual registration cost?

The annual registration costs £10, whatever your age, and is valid for one year. Each consultation also costs £10. The Dispensaire is not a substitute for the NHS. We help and guide patients through their steps within the British healthcare system, but we do not provide long-term medical follow-up.

How do you register with the Dispensaire Français?

Registration with the Dispensaire is done by telephone when booking your first appointment. An online form is then sent with the appointment confirmation. If the form has not been completed online, it can also be filled in on site at your first appointment.

Are the Dispensaire's services free for children?

No. Every patient, whatever their age, must pay the £10 annual registration and the £10 consultations. However, the Youth Health Space is free for 13-25 year olds.
