Whether you are struggling to navigate the NHS system or facing the language barrier, whether you are looking for a second medical opinion in French, or going through a difficult time — financially, psychologically or socially — we are here to listen to you, guide you and care for you.
Our work rests on four core pillars:
We offer medical consultations for £10 across more than a dozen specialities. All our practitioners are UK-registered professionals who work on a voluntary basis:
- General medicine and specialists (dermatology, gynaecology, paediatrics)
- Allied health professionals (ENT, nutrition, physiotherapy, osteopathy, speech therapy, psychomotor therapy)
- Psychology
Beyond medical care, for over 150 years the Dispensaire Français has been committed through programmes of human and social support. Because health is not just about medicine, we have developed specific programmes:
- Youth Health Space for 13-25s looking for a listening ear
- Senior Club to break the isolation of older people
- Women's Support Programme for those going through a difficult time
Our social service supports French speakers in difficulty with practical, immediate help:
- Guidance and information on your dealings with the British system
- Psychological support and/or help in an emergency
- Emergency financial aid: hotel nights, food vouchers, bus tickets, Oyster cards. Conditions apply.
The Clinical Society of the Dispensaire Français is an active medical network bringing together French-speaking doctors and health professionals in the United Kingdom:
- Academic conferences and meetings four times a year
- Open to all specialities
