Join our team of social volunteers
Since 1842, the Dispensaire Français – French Benevolent Society has supported vulnerable French nationals and French speakers in the United Kingdom. Our work relies on the commitment of dedicated volunteers, without whom nothing would be possible.
Today, we are looking for social volunteers to strengthen our team and continue offering caring, human support to those who need it.
What does social volunteering involve?
Our social volunteers work alongside the Dispensaire's team to support French speakers facing situations of vulnerability, hardship, isolation or distress. Depending on your skills and availability, you may be asked to:
- Run the Senior Club, a friendly space to combat isolation among people over the age of 70
- Suggest and organise activities, cultural outings and events
Who are we looking for?
All backgrounds are welcome. No particular qualification is required — what matters most is:
- Reliability and punctuality
- Goodwill and a desire to help
- Respect and kindness towards the people we support
- A good command of French (and ideally English)
