Senior Club

Senior Club

Coming together, in French, in London. We bring together French speakers over 70 living in the United Kingdom.

The purpose of our Senior Club is to break the isolation of our elders — who often arrived here several decades ago — and to offer them a place where they can rediscover the French language and the warmth of French conviviality.

Our values, at the heart of the Senior Club

Solidarity
Everyone finds their place within a community that supports one another and looks out for each other, across the generations.
Volunteer commitment
Volunteers give their time with steadfastness and discretion, so that every gathering is a genuine moment of care.
Human dignity
Each person is heard and respected as they are, with their own story, their own pace and their freedom to choose.

Sharing and coming together in your mother tongue

Many of our French-speaking elders have lived in the United Kingdom for decades. Here they have built their lives, their families, their homes — but with age, distance and sometimes the loss of a loved one, isolation sets in. French becomes a language they hear less and speak less, even though it often remains the language of the heart.

The Dispensaire Français Senior Club was born of this simple observation: to offer, in Hammersmith, a regular place where French speakers can come together, talk, laugh, help one another and rebuild connections — without pressure, at their own pace, in a warm and familiar atmosphere.

« To break the isolation of our seniors, many of whom have lived in the United Kingdom for decades, by offering them a space to reconnect with the French language and French conviviality. »
